Steve McNair Progressing As Expected
(3/18 10:59 PT)

The Facts:
As the Ravens launched their off-season training program Monday under new HC John Harbaugh’s direction, McNair is attempting to revive his career following an injury-plagued season while recovering from a December surgery to repair the labrum in his non-throwing shoulder. McNair has nearly regained full range of motion in his left shoulder and has gotten in better shape, according to team officials, while significantly increasing the amount of time he spends at the Ravens’ training complex. Reported by the Carroll County Times

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Ravens have made it clear that McNair remains the frontrunner to start under center -- as long as his health status, conditioning and performance merit. The truth is, neither Kyle Boller nor Troy Smith have demonstrated the an ability to perform on a consistent basis (Boller given ample opportunity; Smith obviously given less so). The Ravens met with University of Delaware quarterback Joe Flacco, one of the fastest rising players in the draft, at the NFL Scouting Combine, but assuming McNair is healthy, he looks like the team's best short-term option under center.
