a previous item. ... McCareins, a fourth-round pick by the Titans in 2001, was one of six free agent visitors. "It was great to come back here and nice to be invited back," said McCareins, recently cut by the Jets. "They're showing some interest. It seems like a good situation for me. I'm just going to keep my options open for now and see what happens."

So far, McCareins, who has also drawn interest from the Redskins and Bears, seems to be pushing harder to return to Tennessee than the Titans are. Still, that he was invited in for a visit is a good sign. It's certainly more than D.J. Hackett got -- and GM Mike Reinfeldt told Tennessean staffer Jim Wyatt the team doesn't have any further WR visits scheduled. ... In case you missed it, the Titans also played host to former Panthers wideout Drew Carter, who had 38 receptions for 517 yards last season.
