The Facts:
Agent Drew Rosenhaus said Shockey's recovery from surgery to repair a broken leg is progressing as expected. "He's out of the boot," Rosenhaus said. "He's walking. He’s been cleared by Dr. (Robert) Anderson. He'll be ready to go for the off-season program."

The off-season program, by the way, begins on March 31. Shockey may be ready by then, but Daily News staffer Ralph Vacchiano advised readers the star tight end isn't expected to attend. Shockey prefers to spend his offseasons working out in Miami with a group of former Hurricanes. While nobody can say Shockey's workout preference hurts in terms of conditioning, many observers believe he and the team would be better served working on his timing with Eli Manning.
