Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
According to Star-Ledger staffer Dave Hutchinson, Coles, who has been rebuffed in his efforts to get a long-term contract, asked for and was denied the chance to land a deal on his own. Thus, the two sides are expected to reach an agreement. The Jets have taken the unusual step of guaranteeing the final two years of Coles' contract ($11 million total), but the veteran believes he can get that money -- and a long-term deal -- on the open market.
