Kellen Winslow Has Knee Scoped As Planned
(2/22 8:38 PT)

The Facts:
Winslow underwent a scope on his right knee, but should be fine for the off-season program. "Kellen did have his knee cleaned out, but I saw him in the hall the other day," said HC Crennel. "He's rehabbing and he's moving pretty good. It was just a minor cleanout and he's all right." Reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Crennel said Winslow hasn't decided anything yet about repairing his separated shoulder. ... Meanwhile, some observers believe the star tight end's desire to have a new contract (see HERE) is tied directly to his inability to stay healthy and the realization his window for cashing in might be closing. Winslow's scope was at least the fourth surgery he's had on his right knee since his motorcycle accident in May 2005. As an unnamed source recently told Profootballtalk.com, "His body is deteriorating at a rate faster than his performance is going to improve. ..." Despite that notion -- and the fact it's unwise for teams to pay for past performance, Winslow's production probably does merit revisiting his contract. But he may have to settle for a more incentive-laden deal to meet his objective.
