Rain, Wind Will Be Factors In San Francisco
(1/22 8:41 PT)

The Facts:
Rain, winds up to 25 mph and temperatures in the low 50s are predicted for Sunday's NFC Championship game between the 49ers and New York Giants at Candlestick Park, according to a National Weather Service spokesman. Up to a half-inch of rain is expected Sunday, mostly in the afternoon. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m (eastern time). The chance of rain: 100 percent, according to the NWS spokesman, who added: "It's going to be a wet game. ..." Reported by the San Jose Mercury News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
To enhance field conditions during this first wave of winter rain, a tarp has been covering Candlestick's natural grass, which was replaced before a Dec. 19 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Giants flew to San Francisco on Saturday, and they didn't arrive until 5 p.m. because of a mechanical issue delayed them an hour and 40 minutes.
