Ginn Misses Another Practice; Walker Still Optimistic
(1/19 2:55 PT)

The Facts:
WR Ted Ginn (knee) was not at practice Thursday for a second-straight day. C Jonathan Goodwin (calf) and LB Patrick Willis were only observers. TE Delanie Walker (jaw) and DT Ray McDonald (hamstring) were practicing during individual drills. S Dashon Goldson (ankle) returned to practice after taking Wednesday off. Reported by CBSSports.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Walker has gotten in some work for the first time since getting hurt Dec. 24 at Seattle. HC Jim Harbaugh said Thursday that Walker’s status is up to team doctors and Walker says if it is up to him he will play Sunday against the New York Giants. Walker broke his jaw in two places when he took a knee to the face from Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill in the first quarter. Walker was tied for fourth on the team with 19 catches for 198 yards and three touchdowns this season. Ginn seems increasingly unlikely to play with each passing day, which would make Walker's return more vital since QB Alex Smith's comfort level with the No. 2 TE is much higher than it is with WRs Brett Swain and Joe Hastings. ... Stay tuned. More after Friday's practice.
