NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora, citing a league source, confirmed a Sunday report by Fox Sports insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer that Ingram is expected to have season-ending toe surgery sometime this week.

That surgery and its recovery is going to make him unavailable regardless of how far the Saints get in the playoffs. Ingram has not played since Week 13 and this season will be looked upon as a disappointment for the rookie. He'll try to rebound in 2012, but the Saints have impressive depth at running back.
