a previous item. ... Britt was charged on Wednesday night with tampering with evidence, obstructing a government function and resisting arrest after allegedly crushing a cigar containing marijuana, according to court documents.

According to a complaint, Britt was arrested by narcotics officers after he destroyed/discarded physical evidence after being approached by two officers. The complaint said Britt had a hand rolled cigar leaf "containing suspected marijuana" and he broke it with his "hand and therefore making it unavailable to the investigating officers. ..." And now we know why narcotics officers were involved. And it's safe to assume the NFL -- specifically commissioner Roger Goodell -- will be take great interest in this latest incident. Remember, Britt has been involved in roughly a half-dozen incidents involving police since being drafted by the Titans in the first round of the 2009 draft. Britt finished the 2010 season with 42 catches for 775 yards, while leading the team with nine touchdown catches, making him an intriguing Fantasy Football prospect heading into 2011. His lack of maturity, however, makes him somewhat less appealing. The near certainty of league-imposed discipline adds to the concern. ...
