According to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Colts have put the franchise tag on Manning.  Reported by FootballDiehards.com

The move comes as no surprise. Previous reports indicated the Colts would do just that if need be. Per Mortensen, Manning's franchise tag guarantee is just north of $23 million for 2011. The two sides, who last met in January, will continue to work on a new, long-term deal.
