The Facts:
HC Tony Sparano struggled to fill his OC vacancy three years ago as a rookie head coach and needed help to land Dan Henning. It doesn't appear finding Henning's replacement will be any easier. A league source said some of the candidates the Dolphins have inquired about have turned down the opportunity to interview. But the Dolphins are pretty far in the process with four candidates, and two have a history with Sparano.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Per Sun Sentinel staffer Omar Kelly, Sparano has discussed the job with his coaching mentor, Chris Palmer, currently the head coach of the UFL's Hartford Colonials. Cowboys TE coach John Garrett, whom Sparano worked with in Dallas, interviewed on Wednesday, as did former Cleveland Browns OC Brian Daboll. Rob Chudzinski, San Diego's tight end coach and assistant head coach, interviewed Tuesday, but the Dolphins have competition for his services. The former University of Miami player and OC is viewed as a front-runner to become the offensive coordinator with the Carolina Panthers.
