According to team president John Elway, John Fox has agreed to terms to become the 14th head coach in Denver Broncos history. As Elway noted, "[Fox] is a dynamic and proven leader who will energize our entire organization."

Fox was selected over a field coordinators with his experience as the Panthers HC working in his favor. Fox coached Carolina from 2002 through the end of the 2010 season, finishing with a record of 73-71 in the regular season and 5-3 in the playoffs.
