Gostkowski suffered a quad strain against the Browns and could miss the next two weeks. HC Bill Belichick said the former Pro Bowler’s thigh tightened up before the game and it got worse as he went it. It had not bothered him before the game.

In the loss at Cleveland, it was receiver Wes Welker who filled in, kicking a PAT. But now, with games against the Steelers and Colts looming, The Patriots will need a real kicker for a while. Gostkowski had an MRI today that determined it. “It’s a possibility,” HC Bill Belichick said of the chances of signing another kicker. “We’ll see how it goes.” The Patriots worked out two kickers a month ago — Shaun Suisham and Shayne Graham — and it’s unclear if either is headed to Foxboro. The Lions are also in the market for another kicker.
