Report: Matthew Stafford Likely Done For The Year
(11/9 9:6 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... The Lions fear that Stafford might be lost for the season, according to a source close to the situation, after preliminary tests showed that he has a Grade 3 separation of his right shoulder. Reported by Booth Newspapers

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Stafford suffered the injury during the Lions' loss to the Jets on Sunday. He underwent an MRI test on Monday and it is not known if those results confirm the team's initial findings. Stafford is also expected to seek a second opinion with Dr. James Andrews, the surgeon who consulted with Stafford after the quarterback's first shoulder injury earlier this season. If Stafford does have a Grade 3 separation, it's unlikely he'll return this season. That injury would be worse than the Grade 2 separation Stafford suffered in the season opener in Chicago. That injury kept Stafford sidelined for six weeks (five games and the bye week). The Lions only have eight weeks left in the regular season. ... Stay tuned. Team officials have yet to comment on this report. We suspect they will soon.
