According to The Plain Dealer, the seldom-used Davis was waived Monday by the Browns, who once had high hopes for the 2009 draft pick. The team did not confirm the move or that it has been awarded running back Thomas Clayton off waivers from New England. ... Despite the Browns needing another back after rookie Montario Hardesty and Jerome Harrison was traded, Davis was inactive for three of the past four games.
