Gates is getting his foot checked out by a specialist in North Carolina, according to the team. The six-time Pro Bowler is coming off a career high in receiving yards, although his foot bothered him towards the end of the season.

This is the first we've heard of any foot issues this off-season but it's really nothing new. Gates has been bothered by ankle, foot and toe injuries on a fairly regular basis in recent seasons. It is worth noting that renowned foot surgeon Dr. Robert Anderson, who cleaned out Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart's foot in January and repaired Ronnie Brown's foot last November, is based in Charlotte. ...
