The Facts:
Tate missed his fifth day of OTAs yesterday because of an injured hamstring according to Alan Burge of the Houston Examiner. There are 14 days of OTAs prior to the Texans' mandatory three day mini-camp on June 14-16.

HC Gary Kubiak is concerned about Tate's absence but he understands that rushing him back could make a bad thing even worse. "The young back (Tate) is way behind everybody right now, but we've got to be smart and get him well before he competes," Kubiak said after practice Monday. ... Meanwhile, Arian Foster is taking the first-team snaps at running back with Steve Slaton working on a limited basis as he returns from neck surgery. Even though Tate is behind at this point, we'll remind you it's a little early to start figuring out the pecking order here. Stay tuned.
