Scaife reported to Titans headquarters on Monday and is expected to take part in practice on Tuesday, according to sources familiar with the situation. It was Scaife’s first appearance at the team facility since last season.

Scaife, who made about $4.4 million last season after the Titans tagged him their franchise player, has made it clear he wants a long-term contract. He signed a $4.9 million tender in March, but opted to skip the early stages of the offseason training program as well as organized team activities. He has worked out in Denver under the supervision of a personal trainer. ... Thanks to the departure of Alge Crumpler, who signed with the Patriots, Scaife enters this season as the team’s unquestioned leader at tight end. Second-year pro Jared Cook and third-year pro Craig Stevens will also be counted on to play more significant roles.
