Following up on a previous item. ... Charles had off-season shoulder surgery and didn't participate in the team portions of practice this week. Charles said he will be ready for full duty when training camp begins in late July. "The shoulder’s holding up fine," Charles said. "It's getting better. They just want to keep me right until we really get started."

Good to know. Certainly those interested have enough to worry about with Thomas Jones joining the backfield rotation with Charles, who ran for almost 1,000 yards in last season’s final eight games. But it's safe to say the arrival of Jones, who rushed for more than 1,400 yards with the Jets last year, means a timeshare. The key for Fantasy owners will be figuring out how the Chiefs will divide the workload. It's something we'll be watching closely.
