The Facts:
Following up on an ongoing story. ... Johnson missed his sixth mini-camp practice Wednesday. He continues to work out on his own in Florida, hoping for a new, blockbuster contract. It sounds like his hopes will not be realized. G.M. Mike Reinfeldt said he's had some discussions with Johnson's agent recently but no negotiations have taken place. Reinfeldt added: "You're asking me definitely if he's not going to get (a new contract). I'm not making any definitive statements. I just think he's a pro and we expect him to honor his contract. Chris has always been a pro, and we expect that to continue. ..." Scheduled to make $550,000 in base salary this season, Johnson began dropping hints about a new contract late last year, and in January he told The Tennessean he wants to be the league's highest paid offensive player. ... It's safe to assume we haven't heard the last of this one.
