Adam Schefter of ESPN reports via Twitter the Raiders have not cut Russell and they plan to have him attend this weekend's mini-camp to compete.

That makes more sense than the previous report by ESPN's John Clayton suggesting Russell could be cut before the mini-camp begins. Given the fact Russell's $9.4 million salary isn't guaranteed, the Raiders don't save any money by releasing him now. On the other hand, they might be on the hook for that salary if Russell is hurt while practicing. ... Stay tuned. We'll know for sure soon enough.
