Ted Ginn Traded To The 49ers
(4/16 11:15 PT)

The Facts:
Fresh off their acquisition of Brandon Marshall, the Dolphins on Friday traded Ginn to the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers will send a fifth-round pick in this year's draft to Miami, a league source confirmed to ESPN.com's Mike Sando. Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Santa Rosa Press-Democrat staffer Matt Maiocco reminded readers, the 49ers were "thrilled" when the Dolphins took Ginn at No. 9 in the 2007 draft (San Francisco subsequently took LB Patrick Willis at No. 11). Now they're giving up pick No. 145 to secure Ginn's services. ... Meanwhile, Maiocco went on to suggest Ginn does not figure to supplant Josh Morgan as a starting receiver, but he can work his way onto the field as the No. 3 receiver. He'll compete with Jason Hill and Brandon Jones. Maiocco added the move clearly puts Jones on the hot seat. Ginn will suit up on game days for his return skills, which means he'll be no worse than the No. 4 receiver on the team.
