As PFT suggested, it makes sense to work Washington, who is coming off a season-ending broken leg suffered last November, back into the mix slowly. But suggesting a more limited role behind Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson might also be meant as a message to Washington and his agent in order to lower their contract expectations.
