Vikings GM Rick Spielman said the team is trying hard to re-sign Taylor, their third-down back. "Chester Taylor brings so much to this football team. He’s like the unsung hero of the offense," Spielman said.

Taylor is a good pass blocker and one of the better pass-catching backs in the league and could receive "starter’s money" on the open market. Taylor made $3.6 million last season. According to SI.com's Peter King, Taylor is the "hidden skill-position gem" of the unrestricted free-agent crop. King went on to explain that even while Taylor is 30, he's a lightly used 30-year-old back who could be a solid co-number one for a team like San Diego, Washington or Detroit.
