Kubiak Gets New 3-Year Contract In Houston
(2/2 2:20 PT)

The Facts:
Texans HC Gary Kubiak has agreed to a new three-year contract that begins this year and runs through 2012. Reported by the Houston Chronicle

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Rather than sign an extension through 2013, including an option year, Chronicle staffer John McClain reports that Kubiak agreed to a deal that allows the last year of his original 5-year, $10-million contract to be torn up, meaning the new contract will kick in as soon as he signs it. Kubiak wanted his contract to expire after the 2012 season — the same as his assistant coaches. "I want to be on the same path as them," Kubiak said. "I think that's important. It shows we're all in this together. ..." It's safe to say a potent offense, the development of Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson as well as an improving defense were factors in Kubiak's new deal. The offensive continuity is clearly the biggest positive from a Fantasy perspective.
