The Facts:
As expected, Welker underwent surgery today at Massachusetts General Hospital, a source told the Herald. The goal was to repair his torn knee ligaments in his left knee. Herald staffer Karen Guregian was told the surgery was a grand success.

Welker waited to for his injured MCL to heal before having the torn ACL repaired. It was 30 days from when Welker tore his knee against the Texans. Now, it’s time to rehab. “Wes, he’s got a tough road, and he’ll overcome it,” Tom Brady said recently. “I have no doubt he will. ...” While we don't doubt Brady, the real question is when Welker will overcome it. Seems like a reach to believe the talented wideout will be ready for opening day this fall.
