Stover, who handled place-kicking duties for the Colts in 10 of 11 games since K Adam Vinatieri underwent mid-October surgery on his right knee, will handle the role for the postseason, HC Jim Caldwell said on Thursday.

Stover, 41, who spent his first 19 NFL seasons with Cleveland/Baltimore, has converted 9 of 11 field goal attempts and all 33 extra-point tries. Vinatieri is still on the active roster and Caldwell said Thursday that could remain the case. Vinatieri kicked against the New York Jets on December 27, making a field goal and having an extra point blocked but isn't quite 100 percent.
