Hartley is facing a four-game suspension for undisclosed reasons, a league source confirmed. Reported by the New Orleans Times-Picayune

Obviously this revelation helps explain why the Saints decided to re-sign veteran kicker John Carney (see previous item) -- in addition to Hartley's struggles on the field. Times-Picayune staffer Mike Triplett reports it's not clear what the suspension is for or whether Hartley plans to appeal. Stay tuned.
