The Facts:
A league source tells us that Monday's NFL official transaction report shows that the Browns placed Edwards on the "reserve/did not report" list. This potential bombshell has been to date overlooked and largely unknown. As the source explained it, Edwards likely was asked to report with the rookies, due to some sort of an offseason injury.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio notes, by not reporting, Edwards is subject to fines in excess of $17,000 per day. He also could be forced to forfeit 25 percent of his signing bonus allocation for the present season; given, however, the manner in which teams have been structuring first-round contracts over the past few years, it's possible that the No. 3 overall pick in the 2005 draft technically received no signing bonus. Edwards is entering the final year of his rookie contract. He was the subject of offseason trade rumors, but he said not long ago that he wants to continue to play in Cleveland.
