So wrote PFT's Mike Florio, noting the prevailing theory is that -- assuming he lands in Washington -- Vick would not supplant current starter Jason Campbell, but that he instead would work in a Wildcat-type role for 2009, with an opportunity next year to succeed Campbell, whose contract expires after the season. ... Meanwhile, Rock Hill Herald staffer Darin Gantt reports tonight that the Panthers will be among the teams who won't join the Vick chase. According to Gantt, "There are those here who influence football decisions who -- even when Vick was still playing well -- thought that he was one of the most talented running backs in the league. ..." Looking for some certainty here? We'll be hearing plenty of Vick-related speculation in coming days. Brace yourself.
