Following up on a previous item... The lawyer for former Burress confirmed via e-mail minutes ago that his client will testify before the grand jury on Wednesday morning.

Burress is facing two counts of felony gun possession and his attorney, Ben Brafman, is clearly hoping Burress' testimony will result in the grand jury's deciding against indictment. Brafman said Monday afternoon Manhattan district attorney Robert Morgenthau's comments (
see previous) to the New York Post might have "compromised" the grand jury's objectivity and independence in this case. ... Stay tuned. We'll be hearing plenty about Burress in coming days.
