The Baltimore Ravens placed veteran wide receiver Derrick Mason, who announced his plans to retire two weeks ago, on the reserve/did not report list, according to a league source.

The designation means that Mason will not count against the NFL roster limit of 80 players during training camp. Mason can be activated from that list at any time should he decide to return. At this point, there hasn't been much in the way of buzz suggesting a return, but Mason had been angling for a new contract all offseason. Perhaps if the Ravens sweeten the pot a bit, it would get the ball rolling. ... Stay tuned.
