The Facts:
The longer the Vikings take to announce Favre will be their QB next season, the more money appears to be the holdup. The Vikings plan to put single game tickets on sale Monday. Favre's agent, Bus Cook, obviously knows that. He also knows if/when Favre's signing is announced, the Vikings will reap boatloads of new cash in ticket and apparel sales.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Pioneer Press staffer Charley Walters explains, Cook and Favre clearly have enough leverage to extract at least a $10 million deal for the coming season, assuming Favre remains healthy. The Jets paid Favre $12 million last season. And while Favre wants to make sure his arm is fine before signing, Waters wouldn't be surprised if the holdup is Cook seeking more guarantees than incentives. Waterw went on to suggest that if Favre, who turns 40 in October, isn't signed by the Vikings' reporting date of July 29 (that's just 15 days away), it would seem unlikely he'd sign at all. Wouldn't that be interesting? Stay tuned.
