Donovan McNabb Plans On Playing Beyond New Deal
(7/13 8:30 PT)

The Facts:
During a news conference to announce McNabb's raise, he repeatedly stressed "two years" as if it represented a make-or-break scenario hinging on the thus-far-elusive goal of winning a Super Bowl. Still, he said he wanted to play long after his current contract expires. "I've always said that I would like to retire here, but that's not going to be in two years," said McNabb. Reported by USA Today

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
McNabb went on to explain: "My main focus, as well as coach's, is to focus on what we have to do in these next two years. And we feel like, with the guys we have in this locker room, we can get the job done. ..." McNabb's brief, slump-induced benching last season overshadowed his franchise-record 3,916 passing yards and the club-best 416 points. And while his upgraded contract helps keep the peace, but the presence of apparent QB-of-the-future Kevin Kolb could be an ongoing issue.
