Shayne Graham Still Looking For New Deal
(7/11 8:40 PT)

The Facts:
With the July 15 deadline to sign Graham to a long-term deal, it appears as if the team and kicker remain apart on an agreement. “The Bengals put the franchise tag on Shayne for the 2009 season acknowledging that he is a vital part of the team. However, we disagree as to his long term value,” said Graham’s agent, Rob Roche. Reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
For being tagged, Graham will earn $2.483 million this season should both parties not reach an agreement by Wednesday. Negotiations then can not resume until the end of the regular season. Graham would clearly like to get something done before then. “Shayne has been an 87.4 percent kicker for the Bengals," Roche said. "He is committed to maintaining his excellent kicking for them this upcoming season. We remain open to continue further discussions with the Bengals for a long term deal.” Last year, Graham made 21 of 24 field goals, With the team finishing last in offense in the league, the makes and attempts were the lowest of his six years in Cincinnati.
