NFL Expected To Rule On Donte' Stallworth Before Camp

Following up on an ongoing story. ... An NFL source said commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to discipline Stallworth before the start of training camp after he pleaded guilty to DUI manslaughter Tuesday. The Browns report to camp July 31 and hold their first practice on Aug. 1. Reported by the Akron Beacon Journal

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Stallworth was sentenced to 30 days in jail and 10 years of probation. According to Howard Balzer of the Sports Xchange, Stallworth will be placed on two years’ house arrest after completing his 30-day prison term. Stallworth's attorney, however, previously told reporters there will be no electronic monitoring or home detention. ... Meanwhile, it's hard to imagine Goodell not landing on Stallworth with all the league-mandated discipline available. Remember: If a player is convicted or admits to a violation of the law regarding alcohol, the substance abuse policy gives the commissioner more leverage when there are aggravating circumstances, which include serious injury or death of a third party. Adding to the commissioner's leverage? Stallworth is reportedly already taking part in the league's substance-abuse program. ... Stay tuned.
