Michael Vick-To-Pats Theory Making The Rounds?
(6/12 4:12 PT)

The Facts:
There's been a theory making the rounds in the media that the Patriots could be a perfect destination for Vick. Previously, we'd brushed off such speculation, since we believe (and we've been told) that Vick will be looking for a place where he can compete for the starting QB job. But we're now hearing that there could be something to the chatter, primarily since it's appearing more and more likely that Vick won't have many/any options to compete for the every-down QB job in 2009. Reported by Profootballtalk.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As PFT's Mike Florio suggests, Vick certainly wouldn't get a chance to start in New England -- barring another Tom Brady injury. But signing with New England for a year could help Vick position himself to become an attractive candidate for another team in 2010. And Bill Belichick has taken chances on malcontents in the past (Randy Moss and Corey Dillon come immediately to mind). But Vick isn't a malcontent. He's a felon. And owner Robert Kraft and his family would have to do some soul searching on this one. ... Bottom line? We suspect this is the first in a long series of Vick-based theories (some certainly involving the Rams and Saints) we'll be hearing in coming days.
