Byrd, who was out of football in 2008, battles at a position that already has Anthony Becht, Stephen Spach, Leonard Pope, Ben Patrick and Alex Shor too. Worth noting: Byrd was arrested multiple times during his time in St. Louis. In October 2007, he pleaded guilty to DUI. In December 2006, he allegedly struck a man with a beer bottle. As Profootballtalk.com pointed out, the Cardinals’ release says nothing about either incident.
