Following up on Favre-Watch 2009. ... There is a feeling within the [Jets'] organization that Favre will not return to the NFL, and that his next step will be to sign a one-day contract with the Packers and announce his retirement.  Reported by New York Newsday

As Newsday staffer Bob Glauber went on to suggest, when that happens is anyone's guess, and the Jets don't completely discount a potential comeback. Indeed, ESPN insider John Clayton is reporting this morning that Favre told the Jets he didn't plan to return -- but wouldn't guarantee it. Asked by Jets officials where he would play if he did return, Favre reportedly told them Minnesota. ... Meanwhile, Profootballtalk.com (again citing the Flightaware.com web site) notes that one of the five planes leaving Favre's hometown (Hattiesburg, Miss.) airport today was bound for Milwaukee (it is currently making the return trip). ...
