The Facts:
Boldin shockingly drew zero serious interest in trade talks, much less any serious offers, and remains a Cardinal as GM Rod Graves predicted Friday. “We kept reiterating to the few teams that called that our position was to listen,” Graves said. “We were not ever taking a proactive move with respect to a trade, but we were certainly willing to listen and in just about all cases, we didn’t get a response back.”

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Boldin scenario admittedly surprised the Cardinals, although both Graves and HC Ken Whisenhunt had long maintained they didn’t want Boldin going anywhere. Now, as Arizona Republic staffer Kent Somers suggested last night, with Boldin apparently staying put, the onus is on both sides to make the situation work. Boldin has to realize he didn't command a lot on the trade market and that teams apparently were a little scared off by paying him $8 million to $10 million a year. The club, meanwhile, would be wise to make a legitimate effort to give Boldin a new deal.
