Angelo: Bears Came Up Short On Anquan Boldin
(4/25 7:13 PT)

The Facts:
Bears GM Jerry Angelo said the team explored the possibility of trading for Boldin from the Arizona Cardinals. "We did have conversations with Arizona," Angelo said. "Nothing was able to get resolved." Reported by the Chicago Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Cardinals reportedly lowered their asking price for Boldin to a second-round pick and other considerations. Several teams, including Philadelphia, New York Giants and Tennessee, apparently got out of the Boldin sweepstakes by drafting receivers. Meanwhile, as Tribune staffer Vaughn McClure suggested, the Bears did not have enough ammunition to make a serious trade up in the draft, and likely didn't have enough to secure Boldin.
