According to ESPN insider Chris Mortensen, this selection means the Cardinals will release veteran Edgerrin James -- perhaps as soon as Monday. ... According to his
NFL.com scouting report, Wells is regarded by many as the most powerful tailback in college football. But injuries have been an issue. A left ankle sprain, a right wrist sprain and a thumb fracture in 2007; a right foot sprain, turf toe, a hamstring strain and a concussion in 2008. Despite those injuries, Wells only missed three games while compiling enough rushing yardage to rank fourth on the school career record list.
