The Facts:
The Chargers put Osgood on the trading block more than two weeks ago, hoping to get a late-round pick for the special teams standout and erstwhile receiver. "You would be correct, sir," GM A.J. Smith said when asked if Osgood was officially available for trade.

Osgood, a Pro Bowler as a special teamer following the 2006 and '07 seasons, has been dissatisfied with his lack of playing time as a receiver for a few years. Last March, he publicly voiced his desire to be traded. He then skipped the team's offseason workout program. Despite his unique skills, Union-Tribune staffer Kevin Acee reports that Osgood has yet to generate much interest from around the league.
