As Post staffer Mike Klis reminded readers, Goodell did get involved last summer in helping to settle the rift between quarterback Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. "Yes, but that was a different issue," he said. In that case, Goodell reinstated Favre from retirement, thereby forcing the Packers to either allow him to play or trade him. Cutler's request to be traded, while embarrassing for the Broncos organization, is hardly unprecedented to the league. Meanwhile, Klis cited an unnamed owner and a head coach as both believing Cutler will remain a Bronco. ... Stay tuned.
