The Facts:
Burress’ first grievance hearing in front of a special master — the one regarding the Giants’ decision to withhold the final $1 million payment of his signing bonus — has been postponed until April 1, according to NFLPA spokesman Carl Francis.
Reported by the New York Daily News
Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Though a reason for the postponement was not given, it does come one day after Burress is due in a Manhattan court to enter a plea on two felony charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. .... In all, the incident (in which Burress shot himself in the leg in a nightclub) could end up costing Burress $27 million. The grievance that will be heard on April 1, though, is specific to what was supposed to be the final $1 million payment of Burress’ $4.25 million signing bonus. It was due on Dec. 10, though the Giants had until Christmas Day to actually pay it. When they didn’t, the NFLPA announced a grievance would be filed.
