The Facts:
During an interview on KNBR radio, 49ers GM Scot McCloughan initially gave a vague answer about Owens by explaining that the 49ers evaluate every free agent on the market. Brian Murphy, co-host of the "Murph & Mac" morning show, pressed the issue by saying, "So official statement from the 49ers: 'Not closing the door?'" "Correct," McCloughan said.

Despite McCloughan's reluctance to shut that door, Profootballtalk.com's Mike Florio maintains his 49ers' sources claim there's no way T.O. returns to San Francisco. ... Meanwhile, ss the list of teams that have said publicly or off-the-record that they aren’t interested in Owens grows, agent Drew Rosenhaus claims that “several teams” would like to acquire the player’s services. He wouldn't identify those teams, but Rosenhaus did say: “Terrell and I expect to have a deal in place by the end of next week if not sooner." Believe it when you see it.
