The Rams are considering pursuing Frerotte as their backup quarterback behind Marc Bulger. It’s possible Frerotte, 37, could be brought in to Rams Park for a visit next week.

Frerotte is a veteran of 15 NFL seasons. Last season in Minnesota, the Vikings were 8-3 in the 11 games he started. For the season, he completed 178 of 301 passes(59.1 percent) for 2,157 yards and 12 touchdowns. But he also threw 15 interceptions, which tied for the fourth highest total in the league. Frerotte was with the Rams in 2006 and 2007, then-HC Scott Linehan’s first two seasons with St. Louis. He started three games in ‘07.
