The Facts:
All indications are that Eric Mangini will be the next coach of the Browns. Fired by New York Jets last month after a late-season collapse, Mangini appears to be the clear front-runner for the job. The Plain Dealer in Cleveland added fuel to that fire Wednesday, reporting that Mangini has talked to at least two of his Jets assistants about joining him in Cleveland.

Citing a source with knowledge of the situation, the Plain Dealer noted that Mangini has targeted current New York QBs coach Brian Daboll and current Jets WRs coach Noel Mazzone for key offensive positions with the Browns. Additionally, The New York Daily News has reported that Mangini also is interested in hiring current Jets offensive coordinator Bill Callahan to fill the same role in Cleveland. Should Mangini take over in Cleveland, he would be replacing close friend Romeo Crennel, who he worked for during his time in New England. He reportedly would like Crennel to remain with the team in some capacity.
