In a brief statement released through the team, the WR said he didn’t think charges would be filed against him. “In the event they are, I look forward to clearing my name and proving my innocence,” Jackson said.

For what it's worth, Jackson was on probation for a previous DUI arrest. Of primary interest is Jackson's immediate status. According to NFL Network insider Adam Schefter, the NFL cannot suspend Jackson for this weekend and would not suspend him -- not until his legal process is complete. The Chargers, on the other hand, can fine Jackson, suspend him, or bench him to start the game -- basically, they can do whatever they want. While GM A.J. Smith expressed disappointment over the incident, it remains to be seen if the team will do any of those things -- or nothing at all. Stay tuned.
