NFL Network insider Adam Schefter went on to advise readers that as much as Tomlinson is going to want to play Saturday night, the Chargers might have no choice but to shut him down to prevent him from doing further and more extensive damage to his groin. Tomlinson could try to play because he wants to (after having his toughness questioned last January), but if he does play -- which is looking more and more uncertain -- Schefter believes it will be difficult for Tomlinson to be effective.
